Whether you’re experiencing a breakdown in your regular child care, you’re looking for an after-school sitter, you have adult- or elder-care needs, or you just need someone to walk the dog, Bright Horizons offers many options for finding temporary and long-term care for a loved one.

To register for Bright Horizons, visit clients.brighthorizons.com/exelixis. (Visit Nexus for login credentials.) After registering, you can access Bright Horizons through SSO.

Back-Up Care Advantage Program

Exelixis offers the Back-Up Care Advantage program through Bright Horizons to support you when your normal care arrangements fall through. Bright Horizons provides you with 24/7 access to experienced caregivers. The program arranges care for infants, children, and the elderly. You’re only responsible for a small copay, and Exelixis covers the rest.

The program offers:

Ten days per calendar year to be used for backup care, pet care, or tutoring
Free, 24/7 access to a database of nannies, babysitters, elder caregivers, dog walkers, groomers and trainers, and other resources
Preferred enrollment and discounted fees for care centers
The opportunity to jump ahead on wait lists at select Bright Horizons centers, and access to exclusive tuition discounts

Benefit Details

Backup care (child, adult, or elder): 10 days per employee per calendar year
Return to work: five additional days during child’s first 12 months
Your copay per use:
- Centers: $15 per child per day; $25 per family per day max
- In-home: $6 per hour (up to three care recipients; 4-hour minimum)
Reserve backup care up to 60 days in advance
Cancellations must be received by 5 p.m. two business days before a reservation to avoid paying a copay or using hours.

Tutoring

Virtual tutoring for school-aged children (ages 5–18) is available through our Bright Horizons Back-Up Care benefit provider.

Our partnership with Bright Horizons can provide your child with help in reading, math, science, social studies, and 300+ other subjects, as well as targeted support with a math or reading expert who can identify areas of opportunity and help your child excel.

You can exchange one backup care day for four hours of virtual tutoring. You’ll have up to 90 days from when you exchange your backup care day to book your virtual tutoring session. Any unused hours will be forfeited after 90 days.

Child-Care Tuition Subsidy

All Exelixis employees get 30% off the standard center tuition rate at public Bright Horizons centers anywhere in the country. Note: Only those dependents who enrolled in 2022 and 2023 will be grandfathered in with this 30% subsidy.

You can also secure your child’s spot with priority enrollment, letting you jump ahead of the wait list.

When you register to enroll, your registration fee will be waived.

In order to qualify for the 30% tuition discount, be sure to identify yourself as an Exelixis employee, and provide your employee ID number.

College Coaching

Bright Horizons College Coach helps you maximize your child’s academic and college admissions success. Register for your free benefit to get access to:

Impartial, one-on-one guidance from our team of former college admissions officers
Live events and on-demand webinars
Expert advice on college lists and admissions essays
Online resources and tools targeted to your student’s academic level

Pet Care

New for 2024! We’re adding a second provider, Wag!, which will give you more flexibility and choice. This addition will also expand our pet care coverage, adding over 400,000 pet caregivers to our provider network.

As part of your backup care benefit through Bright Horizons, you can exchange one of your 10 annual backup care days for a $100 credit with Rover, which offers pet sitting, walking, boarding, and drop-in visit services for dogs and cats. Keep in mind that once you exchange one of your backup care days for Rover credits, you must use the credits within 90 days. Starting this year, you can also exchange one of your 10 annual backup care days for a credit for three walks, three home drop-ins, or one overnight boarding through Wag’s pet care services. Breast Milk Delivery Service

Milk Stork is a breast milk delivery service for business-traveling parents. It provides a no-fuss solution that refrigerates, express ships, and helps deliver breast milk to your baby at home. Milk Stork provides multiple easy-to-use options to choose from, so you can pick what best fits your nursing and travel schedules.

Milk Stork also offers breast milk nutritional testing to help you learn how your diet affects your milk and what supplements you may need to optimize your milk.

Surrogacy Benefit

Exelixis offers a Surrogacy Assistance Program through Progyny as another path to parenthood. Exelixis will reimburse you up to $50,000 (per surrogacy attempt) for eligible family-forming surrogacy expenses. You’ll also have unlimited access to a dedicated Patient Care Advocate (PCA), who will provide you with information, resources, and emotional support throughout your surrogacy journey. You do not need to be a Blue Shield member to claim your reimbursement.

Parent and Life-Stages Support

There’s a lot to consider as a new or expecting parent. Parental support through Villyge guides you through the whole parenting process. Covered services include lactation support, family coaching, pre- and post-natal support, return-to-work support, and more.

Villyge also creates family-friendly workspaces that are responsive to the needs of breastfeeding mothers and supportive of the needs of post-baby working parents.

Along with parental support, Villyge offers resources to guide you through major life events, like caring for an elderly parent, planning for your kids going to college, and dealing with grief or loss.

Adoption Assistance Program

Exelixis recognizes that families are formed in many ways. The adoption assistance program through Forma is designed to help offset the costs associated with adopting a child. The program covers expenses for a variety of eligible adoption services, up to $50,000 per adoption.

An eligible child for adoption is an individual who is under the age of 18, or is physically or mentally incapable of self-care. Qualified adoption expenses do not include expenses that a taxpayer pays to adopt the child of the taxpayer’s spouse.

Pet Insurance

Nationwide pet insurance provides coverage for veterinary expenses related to accidents and illnesses. Policies are available for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and other exotic pets. Optional wellness coverage is also available for dogs and cats, providing reimbursement for preventive care. Call Nationwide directly 877-738-7874 for a quote.

Nationwide members can enroll in My Pet Protection Wellness500 coverage, which offers benefits for preventive care, including eligible exams, vaccinations, flea prevention, spay or neuter, teeth cleaning and more. You can select either the 50% or 70% reimbursement level.

Concierge Services

Through ACI’s AllOne Concierge, you can get a helping hand with all kinds of daily tasks, from travel and party planning to getting referrals for child care and home maintenance services. You can access ACI via the AllOne Concierge Portal. (Visit Nexus to find the company code.)
